Inside a “Yoru no Ume” (which means the plum at night), there is a cross section of an

azuki bean which looks like an ume (a Japanese plum). To stay true to such a peaceful

name, I designed this plate as something you could enjoy with a cup of tea. I made this

with a columnar form on a wheel and used a knife to cut and change its shape. For me, the

white colouring the plate resembles white paper, which is linked to Japanese aesthetics.
